Search The What Works Database

Welcome to the Yorkshire Futures' What Works Database. It is a new user friendly facility to help you look up solutions and learning points from an array of project case studies, evaluations and research findings. It will raise awareness of good practice in the region, help to prevent duplication, and support informed policy making and effective solutions. A 'Guidance for Inclusion on the Database' document is available for your reference.

The Database contains information across the span of social, economic and environmental themes. Simple search functions mean you can look up material by using a keyword, or by specifying the location, sub location, theme, sub theme, organisation, year, or type of information you are interested in. You can search across one or more of these criteria, then probe the identified records. For example, you could search for research findings about employment in West Yorkshire.

We welcome feedback on how the system can be enhanced. The Database is also a tool for you to communicate your work/projects and share understanding from them. So please get in touch if you have such information. Our focus is mainly, but not exclusively, on material from Yorkshire and Humber.

Yorkshire Futures thanks the West Yorkshire Economic Partnership Research Group for their assistance - the Database draws much from the 'West Yorkshire Research Matrix'. There are also several 'Specialist Regional Websites' that provide excellent information for their sectors. The What Works Database is a long term venture that will evolve and grow, and is likely to take around two years to include as much information as we'd like. So not all searches will yield results, and we will initially prioritise material on certain themes.

You can conduct two types of search within the What Works Database.

Keyword search allows you to scan the Database using a search word or phrase

Advanced search lets you search using defined categories (e.g. location, theme)

Enter a search phrase in the textbox below to search via keyword. The whole database is queried.
