ONS Geographic codes

“Geographic codes used in Office for National Statistics (ONS) products will change from 1 January 2011. This could cause some confusion. The new codes will improve automated data transfer, understanding of codes, and ONS will ensure codes are unique and never reused. Previously a three number code could mean lots of things, now each code can only mean one thing.”

Presentation slides from 10 to 24 outline the changes. This presentation was given by ONS Regional Statistician Ian Kay to the Geodemographic User Group on 23 June 2010.
